Good purchase August 27, 2010 L. Nogg (Omaha, NE USA) I read some of the other reviews with people who said that the filter wouldn't fit.
When I first tried to put the filter on, I had the same problem. I'm not sure
if this because it is a little smaller or because the rubber casket is made of a a stiffer
material. However, what I found, if you set the filter down on a flat surface - with the
open end facing up - take the part that pushes into it and line it up perfectly straight
over the hole and push straight down... with a little pressure it will slide on without
any problem. It may be a little tighter than the original filters, but for less than half the
price, it is definitely worth the little extra effort.
OK but needs to be hit with a tack hammer to get it cleaned August 8, 2010 D. Hess (Harleyville, PA) Hoover Wide-Path Hideaway handle: As a microbiology nurse who cares about "bugs" in the air, I've found ALL these replaceable filters are convenient, except for one problem. You can't simply replace the filter after each use; you DO need to gently tap or bang the dirt inside the filter folds, with something like a tack hammer, inside a trash bag in order to get most of the contaminants out of the filter. This applies to all the replaceable filter type vacuums. I usually take mine outdoors, wear a mask (a bandanda will do) and lightly tap the filters with a tack hammer. Then I use a long wooden barbecue stick, to remove the deep "dust bunnies" that get stuck inside each fold. There's no doubt, these reusable filters are convenient cheaper, and probably cleaner than having an old bag type vacuum. Having those old bags filled with dirt, dust, & all kind of biological waste sitting inside the closet for months at a time, is not good for anyone. But, in my mind, there's no way, I'd simply empty the dirt cup then put the filter back into the vacuum cleaner, without at least first tapping the locked-in dirt inside the folds. I'm curious if I'm the only kook, who does this?
These Filters Seem To Work As Good As Any Ive Bought May 20, 2010 Gary R. Burr (LEAWOOD, KANSAS, US) These filters are well built and long lasting and i think just as good as Hoover makes.
Very tight fit April 10, 2010 Katrina Halverson (Wisconsin USA) The filter is very tight. Putting it on was a struggle: in the way not to break my vacuum plastic parts. Once on I did get it on I heard a crack. It will work. I have the fold-away.
Does not fit March 28, 2010 E. Gibbs 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The information on this product is really misleading. It says "designed to fit all Hoover Foldaway Uprights." I have a Hoover widepath Foldaway and it does NOT fit. I will be returning these.
