5 out of 5 stars works great!   September 3, 2010

I bought this product less than a month ago, and my God, it works phenomenal...it's worth every penny you spent. The best vacuum I ever had. I recommend this product 100%. You will not regret it!

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased   August 23, 2010

This vacuum cleaner did everything I expected it to, and is very light weight. It would be nice if you could stop the brush at the bottom when you use the accessories. I just tilt the unit so it won't damage the floor when I use the accessories to vacuum the sofa. The "strips" it left on rug really did not bother me. It is a great product, at a great price.

4 out of 5 stars Too Much Plastic   August 19, 2010
Burn-E (Wheeling, IL USA)
I have owned Hoover products all my life and it seems like its getting cheaper and cheaper in material. I could understand that they are trying to keep it light as possible but its getting out of control. I seriously doubt this unit will last me 5 years before the plastics pieces degrade and break off. However, the motor seems to be strong and the suction is very good. I guess for the price, its a good deal. I wished they could've used light weight aluminum for the frame. I'm willing to pay extra for the durability.

4 out of 5 stars Wind Tunnel: A Good Little Vacuum for the Money   August 13, 2010
T.N. (Eagle Point, Or)
I recently bought a "Tempo" WindTunnel at Wallmart for a $100.00. So far I am very pleased with it. It picks up well and the hose has excellent suction which is something my last vacuum didn't have. I owned a WindTunnel before and loved it. That was about 6 or 7 years ago. (That one was so powerful it would pick up clothes in the brush roller. I did this by accident one time and my husband had to take it apart to get the shirt it sucked up in the roller out.) We really put that vacuum through the ringer before it finally quit. We vacuumed outside as well as inside, in the garage where the dog sheds alot, where leaves and rocks blow in, etc. My husband has since bought two other vacuums, neither of which I really liked. The most recent one was a Eureka "The Boss" Upright Bagless. It did an Ok job but the filters were a constant problem. Admittedly I wasn't very good about keeping the filters clean inside the vacuum. The ones on the outside I did OK with but not on the inside. Apparently this particular vacuum needs to be serviced with filters replaced or cleaned about every 6 months, or so this is what I was told by the vacuum cleaner repair shop I took it to. One of the motors that runs the beater brush gave out because I failed to have the filters cleaned regularly. To me this is expensive to do constantly and I would rather by pass this step if I could so I asked the Owner of the shop what he recommended. Surprisingly these were his recommendattions: Stay away from bagless machines because the filters need to be cleaned at least every 6 months and are constantly filthy, (He showed me all the vacuums he was servicing, which incidentily were all bagless) try to buy a vacuum with a beater brush that is made of steel where the bristle brushes can slide out and the hair can be removed. The plastic ones get string and hair melted into them and neither beater brush lasts as well as the steel ones. Try to buy a vacuum that is lightweight, that uses a bag and expect to spend at least $250.00. Two that he recommended were the Riccar and Simplicity, both uprights, neither of which are sold in regular stores.(Vacuum cleaner shops sell these) (The Riccar, he said would last about 15 years.) However he also said that for an inexpensive vacuum he highly recommended the WindTunnel and told me for the money it delivers decent value if you want to spend less money than what he suggested and is a much better vacuum than the Eureka I already owned. So I went specifically to look for a WindTunnel in different stores. When I looked around I noticed that almost all of the new lines of vacuums are bagless. Which led me to believe that the bagged machines are going out of style. I still managed to find a bagged one however, and I like it alot. It is simple, efficient, powerful and doesn't need constant care. I have always liked Hoover in general as a rule. It seems that in the past I could always count on a certain level of quality from this brand. (One Hoover I owned lasted 6 years.) So in short, if you want something that will do the job well, will last, and doesn't need a lot of babying. This one is it.

4 out of 5 stars Cleans well, but annoying cord!   August 4, 2010
Maryland Mom (Rockville, MD)
This hoover vacuum cleans great, which is the bottom line. However, I have noticed that the cord easily comes out from the casing in which it it supposed to lie. Sounds confusing - basically the cord is supposed to go up the vacuum as so you don't step on it while vacuuming. Well, it doesn't stay well at all and you have to keep swinging the cord around while vacuuming so you don't pull on it or get it tangled. My last Hoover Windtunnel didn't have this problem.
